Music at Burning Man

Music is everywhere at Burning Man. Indeed, sometimes when you're trying to sleep, you might wish it wasn't! Bring ear plugs!
  • The majority of the music out there, especially at the big sound camps (theme camps devoted to music) and on the big art cars, is electronic music.
  • Good places to find non-electronic music are less predictable but include Jazz Camp (always on Rod's Road or within Center Camp) and at Center Camp itself, where music is typically acoustic.
  • Art cars bring traveling sound systems to the playa, and some of them are pretty incredible.
  • Rockstar Librarian puts out a lineup of acts at major camps and releases it before the event every year, but not much before! Print out a couple copies and bring them with you.
  • But, don't worry about finding your favorite DJ  - let the moment take you. There's music everywhere and if you don't like what you're listening to, walk 50 feet and you'll be listening to something else.
